Aquamarine is the blue cousin of Emerald which is also a variety of Beryl. The name of this beautiful gem comes from the latin language and means translated "water of the sea". Iron gives Aquamarine it's color. The higher the ircon content, the deeper the blue. Aquamarine is probably one of the most known gemstones in the market. The deep blue color makes every gem lovers heart beat faster.

The deepest blue color variation is called Santa Maria. This color is the rarest and most expensive one. Some of the most gorgeous Aquas come from the Santa Maria de Itabira Mine in Brazil. However, Aquamarines can be found all around the world. For example in North America, Pakistan, Vietnam and Cambodia.
